The Harsh Reality About Dental Insurance

Did you know that consumers spend over $76 billion every year on dental insurance? However, only 61% of that money goes toward paying for dental treatment. While dental insurance companies have grown 70% over the last 20 years, the payments by insurance companies for dental care has been declining.

In some instances, procedures like implants, crowns, root canals, and even regular cleanings have secretly been cut from plan coverage without the patients' knowledge! Patients are paying more and more out of pocket when it comes to dental care. A patient can unknowingly spend thousands of dollars on dental insurance premiums for a plan that won't even cover the care they need!

In this scenario, an insurance company will pay for a specific procedure on a tooth one time during that patient's life. Yes, that's right, just once in their entire lifetime! That's like saying, "Here are your tires Mr. Smith. You must drive on these forever, so don't get a flat tire!"
